VERY IMPORTANT: Please make sure your passport is valid for 6 months after your departure date from India and then please apply for your Indian visa ASAP.  You can apply for an e-visa, which means you apply from the US and you receive it once you arrive in India, but this is valid for only one visit and sometimes there is a lengthy waiting time upon arrival in India for visa processing.  It is recommended that you apply for a 10-year multiple entry visa in the more traditional manner and thus you will have your visa in your passport before departing the US.  Obtaining this visa can take 4-6 weeks.

ALSO, you will need the address and phone number of the conference for the visa application.

***Additionally, keep the conference address and phone number information with you in flight.  When you arrive in India, you will need to fill out an additional form and you MUST have the address and phone number handy before you will be allowed into the country.
